Cochin Shipyard Recruitment 2022 – Cochin Shipyard Limited has announced an online notification for recruitment to the post of Workmen (Mechanical, Quality Inspection, Fabrication Assistant, Outfit Assistant – Fitter, Mooring & Scaffolding Assistant, Semi Skilled Rigger). There are 46 vacancies are to be filled for this posts. Interested candidates who are all completed their Diploma/ SSLC/ ITI in their relevant field can apply through online on or before 05 February 2022. The detailed eligibility and selection process are given below in detail.

Cochin Shipyard Limited- In India, it has the largest shipbuilding and maintenance Company. It was founded in 1972. Headquarters is in Kochi, India. It provides services in Ship design, Shipbuilding and Ship repair. Their products are Tankers, Bulk carriers, Platform supply vessels, Patrol boats and diving support vessels. Educational Qualification For Cochin shipyard Recruitment 2022 :

Project Assistant – Mechanical :

• Three year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 60% marks from a State Board of Technical Education.
• Desirable:- Proficiency in Computer Applications like SAP, MS Project, MS Office etc.
• Minimum of two years post qualification experience/ training in the relevant discipline

Project Assistant – Quality Inspection (Hull) :

• Three year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education.
• Minimum of two years post qualification experience/ training in the relevant discipline

Project Assistant – Quality Inspection (Machinery) :

• Three year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education.
• Minimum of two years post qualification experience/ training in the relevant discipline conducting inspections of installation and commissioning of machinery as per Ship repair standards.

Project Assistant – Quality Inspection (Valve & Piping) :

• Three year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education.
• Minimum of two years post qualification experience/ training in the relevant discipline conducting inspections of fabrication, installation and testing of piping systems as per ship repair standards.

Project Assistant – Quality Inspection (Painting) :

• Three year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education.
• Minimum of two years post qualification experience/ training in the relevant discipline conducting inspections and continuous monitoring of painting activities in ships hull, internal compartments, inside tanks and superstructure.

Project Assistant – Quality Inspection (Electrical) :

• Three year Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education.
• Minimum of two years post qualification experience/ training in the relevant discipline

Fabrication Assistant (Welder) :

• Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Welder.
• Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in the relevant trade.

Outfit Assistant – Fitter (Pipe) – Plumber :

• Pass in SSLC and ITI – NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Fitter Pipe/Plumber.
• Minimum of three years post qualification experience / training in the relevant trade.

Mooring & Scaffolding Assistant :

• Pass in SSLC with minimum of three years post qualification experience/training in general structural/mooring/ scaffolding / rigging works.
• The experience shall be relaxable by one year for ITI (NTC) holders in the trade of Sheet Metal Worker/ Fitter Pipe (Plumber) /Fitter.

Semi Skilled Rigger :

• Pass in IV Std.
• Minimum of three years experience in rigging of which two years experience shall be in rigging of heavy duty machine parts/ ship’s hull/ machinery equipments etc in relevant field.

Upper Age Limit (as on 17.02.2022) :

• The upper age limit prescribed for the posts shall be 30 years

Upper age is relaxable by:

• For OBC – up to 3 years
• For SC/ST – up to 5 years

Cochin Shipyard Recruitment 2022 Selection Process :

• For Project Assistants :
• The method of selection for the posts shall be through Objective type test and Descriptive Type Test (Writing Skills in English language) which shall be conducted out of 100 marks
• The Objective type test shall be 90 minutes duration comprising of 80 Multiple Choice Questions in the following areas. Each question carries one mark

PART A (Objective type test) :

General Knowledge            –      5 Marks

Reasoning                           –      5 Marks

Quantitative Aptitude        –     10 Marks

General English                 –      10 Marks

Discipline related              –      50 Marks

PART B (Descriptive test) :

Writing Skills (English language) – 20 marks

For Fabrication Assistants (Welder) & Outfit Assistant (Fitter(Pipe)- Plumber) :

• The method of selection shall include Phase I consisting of an Objective type test and Phase II consisting of Practical Test.
• The Phase I Objective type test shall be of 35 minutes duration comprising of 30 Multiple Choice Questions and consists of two parts General (Part A) (10 Marks) and Trade related (Part B) (20 Marks). Each question carries one mark
• Accordingly, weightages are assigned to the following parameters for final selection :

Part A:

• ITI (NTC) Marks20%

Part B:

• Objective type test30%

Part C:

• Practical Test50%

TOTAL100%

For Mooring & Scaffolding Assistant on Contract Basis :

• The method of selection shall be through : Practical & Physical test

Part A:

• Practical Test80 %

PartB:

• Physical Test20%

For Semi Skilled Rigger :

• The method of selection shall be through Practical tests which shall be given 100% weightage (based on grades obtained in the test) and marks awarded accordingly.
